For those who live, work, or seek healthcare in Lake County, Illinois, you are probably aware of the dispute over reimbursement rates paid to Condell Medical Center by the Blue Cross/Blue Shield health insurance carrier. We understand that this situation has led to a great deal of confusion and frustration as to where patients with Blue Cross may seek healthcare, in particular, their orthopaedic needs. This communication is to inform you that while Condell and Blue Cross seek a resolution, Greenleaf Orthopaedic Associates' in network relationship with Blue Cross remains intact as it has for many, many years. We continue to see patients with Blue Cross on an in network basis in the emergency rooms of Lake County, and in our three offices in Libertyville, Gurnee, and Round Lake. For those Blue Cross patients requiring surgery, we are able to perform those at Lake Forest Hospital or Hawthorn Surgical Center, where we have been on staff for many years.
